Following a fatal work accident a number of investigations are likely to be conducted. For instance OSHA will be notified and will work to discover what went wrong so that similar accidents dont have an opportunity to occur in the future. However their goal is not to look for all of the liable parties that may have played a role in this tragic accident. For that a third party investigation may be pursued that can look into certain issues of liability such as whether or not proper safety equipment was provided or functional or if a particular hazard was known about before an accident occurred. Through such an independent investigation the party or parties that may bear responsibility for this untimely accident might be identified so that they can be held properly accountable for their negligence that may have led to such a devastating outcome.
