58-year-old James Parker Sr. was electrocuted to death on August 16, 2008

On August 16, 2008 58-year-old James Parker Sr. of Helena, AL. died as a result of a work related injury in Jasper, AL. The accident occurred as Parker was working to take down a communications tower at the Walker County Center of Technology at approximately 1 PM.

Unbeknownst to him, the truck/ crane type unit that Parker was operating came into contact with a high voltage wire. Parker later touched the bumper of the truck and was electrocuted to death. Several other workers in the area witnessed the accident and pulled him from the vehicle which caught on fire shortly thereafter.

Rescue workers attempted to revive Parker but to no avail.
