28-year-old Rafael Cararez is badly injured in a Tampa, FL construction accident

On August 27, 2008 28-year-old Rafael Cararez sustained a major injury while working on a Tampa, FL. job site. The construction accident occurred as Cararez was working on the 10th floor of The Element, a high rise complex being built on North Franklin St.

Reportedly a small piece of metal fell from the 36th floor and struck him in the head, driving through his helmet and into his skull. When paramedics arrived he was descibed as being unconscious and hardly breathing. Resuce workers transported Cararez to Tampa General Hospital in serious condition.
