James Mays Killed at Southwest Shipyard in Galveston, TX After Backhoe Accident

A fatal workplace accident that involved a backhoe in Galveston, TX at the Southwest Shipyard on November 5, 2012 left worker James Mays, 40, dead. According to reports, Mays was working at the shipyard when the boom from a backhoe pinned him, leaving him fatally injured.

Scene of the Accident

Mays was killed at the scene and police said that he was a contract employee. The matter was expected to be investigated further.
