53-year-old Carlton Pennier was killed in accident at a Morton Salt facility

On June 21, 2009, 53-year-old Carlton Pennier lost his life in a work-related accident. The fatal accident occurred at approximately 1:30 p.m. at a Morton Salt facility in Opelousas, LA as Pennier was involved in the collapse of an underground salt dome. The specifics of the accident are sketchy at best, but it is known that the victim was found dead at the scene. OSHA has launched a full investigation.
