Kelly Loyd killed at the Hanford Site in Washington.
On Monday, March 1, Kelly Loyd, a backhoe operator, who was doing excavation work at the Hanford nuclear site in Washington was killed in an job-related accident. Officials report that Loyd was taken to a nearby hospital but that he died of his injuries. Officials are still investigating the incident. Construction work is often dangerous, but many accidents could be prevented if clients, other workers, and employers would follow safety guidelines. In situations where a worker is killed due to another person's negligence, family members may wish to file a wrongful death lawsuit. Unfortunately, this will not be an easy case. I have worked on construction accident lawsuits for twenty years, and I have seen what both individuals and corporations are willing to do in order to avoid being held responsible for an accident. But the truth is this: the law is on your side, and with the help of an attorney from one of Dallas' construction law firms, you can be sure that those responsible for your loved one's death are brought to justice.
