Chicago man killed while working on a gas pip.
On Wednesday, March 3, a gas pipe worker in Chicago, IL was killed in an accident while on the job. A spokeswoman from People's Gas states that a pipe shifted while the crew was working on it, but that no explosion occurred. The victim's name has not been released. Officials are still investigating the incident. Construction work is inherently dangerous, but many accidents could be prevented if employers, clients, and other workers would follow safety procedures diligently. When a victim is killed due to these procedures not being followed, family members may wish to file a lawsuit. Unfortunately, this is an extremely difficult task. I have worked on construction accident cases for twenty years, and I have seen what construction companies are willing to do in order to avoid being held responsible for an accident. But the truth is this: the law is in place to protect victims and their families, and with Dallas construction law attorneys on your side, you can make sure that those responsible for your family member's death are held accountable for their negligence.
